Your face. I mean… your face.
Who am I?
I’m, like, just this guy, you know?
To be specific, I am a twenty-something Canadian citizen currently residing in the great state of California. I am an EE grad of the University of Toronto and currently work as an IP development engineer at Actel. Rootless and overwhelmed, I seek some purpose in life but it eludes me. I work long hours and sleep much of the rest of the time. To stimulate my mind and body I have begun adopting local activities such as surfing, snowboarding, and motorcycling. I have friends but am a little lonely. Who isn’t?
Why the blog?
Why not? We all have thoughts sometimes that make us say “Dayum what a nice thought, you might say, ROUND!” I mean… “Dayum I should write that down.” The purpose of this blog is to write down those random swirls of thought that occasionally congeal into a legitimate idea. Maybe I’ll discover the purpose of life one of these days. Or invent the latest and greatest product, like Vapoorizer. That would make my life.
About what?
Originally, this was meant to be nothing too personal. Just random thoughts and opinions on the world.
Now, however, this blog has turned into a home base for my continued attempts at being a writer, as I ponder taking the permanent leap out of corporate America and into a life of frugality and artistry. Someone needs to nudge me.
Alex, I don’t have a website, but I was interested to read your blog. We were in class yesterday, right? Lots of imaginative stuff here! Good observations, too, with twists of humor, black and otherwise. I’m sure you have lots of material for articles if you want to do that. Sounds as if you don’t have a lot of free time though. You probably canc ome up with topics to cluster an article around–coffee shops in the Mission might be a good start! I would read it!
Liz
Thanks Liz, I hadn’t really thought of coffee shops as an article topic. It just seems like everyone is writing about coffee shops and going to coffee shops and talking about coffee shops in this fair city. I can’t imagine it being easy to find someone to publish anything about coffee shops, unless of course it were presented with the right angle. More thought required…
